Creating a custom hat from scratch is an intensive process whether in-person or over the phone. First I work with you to identify the material that will suit you the best. This can include the color, weight, and fur content. Then the trims are selected including the ribbon, bound edge, or any other finishes you may want to incorporate.

Next I'll take a size measurement and a head shape imprint to insure that the finished hat fits you perfectly. This is perhaps the most crucial step in the process.

Then comes all the work. The process requires steam, some pressure, and a lot of finish work to refine the raw felt into the fine hat that ultimately ends up on your head.

Finally I collaborate with you to shape and work the hat into its final form.
